Who We Are
ILAMAIYO is a Maasai word for an organized lion hunt, a practice that signifies Maasai rite of passage as youth come of age.
ILAMAIYO also stands for "Indigenous Laikipiak Maasai Integrated Youth Organization," an Kenya registered non-profit organization which aims to sponsor the education of young Maasai girls and help transform their futures.

Read as the story unfolds as Shanghai-based Molly and Singapore-based Morgan travel to Kenya to learn more about the spirit of the Maasai, and how this small group of committed people may in fact change the world.

ILAMAIYO is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enable the lives, desires, identities and work within the young Maasai Laikipiak community in Kenya. ILAMAIYO sponsors the tertiary education for young, disadvantaged, Laikipiak girls and this educational sponsorship gives them the opportunity to positively transform their lives.
